Who We Are:

The Stovall & Hoggard Communications Network (S&HCN) on Blogtalk Radio was created in 2013 by two veteran communications professionals:

Dawn Stovall is a well known, long time journalist in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia.   She is  a 2004 recipient of the Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting.  Dawn began her 30 year career as a media producer for Iowa’s largest African-American owned and operated non-commercial community radio station.   Stovall  relocated to Norfolk, Virginia and worked her way  up from reporter and evening anchor to News Director at  WTAR-WLTY.    She transitioned into television and spent ten years building a successful investigative team as the Executive Investigative-Special Projects producer for WVEC-TV then owned by Belo Corp.  She has been recognized by professional and community organizations for her contributions and commitment to make a difference.

Sharon Hoggard, a 30-year public relations practitioner, is an award-winning PR professional and has won the PRSA (Hampton  Roads Chapter) Pinnacle award for her work in the development and implementation of emergency communications and operations plans for Norfolk State University. She is also the recipient of two CASE Awards (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) for publications and media relations outreach strategies. She was most recently employed by Sentara Healthcare where she worked on internal communications including the implementation of an employee information campaign for Sentara’s mass notification system and its system-wide flu prevention plans.
